A single tracking code allows you to collect data from your visitors and send it back to Hotjar. Installation involves copy and pasting your unique Tracking Code within the site you would like to track. With Hotjar there is no contract to sign and you can upgrade or downgrade between different plans any time – directly from your account. If you choose to pay on a monthly basis, your subscription can be cancelled at any time by simply downgrading to the free Basic plan.

Yes. The prices for each plan are charged per site you set up in Hotjar. You are provided a tracking code per site which you can install on multiple subdomains. If your organization owns multiple sites, or if you work with clients, you select a plan for each site you set up. You can downgrade and upgrade your site plans at any time.

The more pageviews you collect data from, the faster you will collect recordings and the faster you will generate heatmap and form reports. Choosing a pageview limit that includes all your traffic will also ensure funnels are not based on a sample of your traffic.

Hotjar works differently from other tools that capture data based on data points. Instead of collecting the first 20,000 data points and then stop collecting data, Hotjar automatically distributes data collection throughout the day (what we call 'sampling'). The closer your data points to your site traffic, the bigger the % of data you will collect.

Yes – Hotjar gives you the option to pay for your plans annually. When annual payment is set up in-app with a credit card or Paypal, a 20% discount prior to VAT is added to your bill. Kindly view our help doc for further details.

For monthly payments, we support all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Maestro, and Discover) and Paypal. For yearly payments on the Business plan, we accept payments via wire transfer, all major credit cards, and Paypal.

Automatically collecting data from all pages on your site can be very expensive and data intensive. Hotjar makes it more affordable by taking an ‘on demand’ report approach. You can generate an unlimited amount of reports on an unlimited number of pages whenever you need them. This makes Hotjar more affordable and ideal for fast moving and lean organizations since it allows for rapid changes.
